			The updated sawmill was recognized as being ahead of its time. Similarly, the company's office building was recognized for its foresight, and the attractive structure received the 1978 Western Wood Products plant appearance award.

			Designed to give the feeling of walking through an old-growth forest, the office's massive timbers, cool indoor vegetation and subtle skylights lend to that outdoor feel. The building today houses the company's business and forestry departments, as well as the sales and marketing staff that services Bennett Lumber Products and Guy Bennett Lumber Company. The transformation of the old Boone Mill into a modern twenty-first century operation continues, with the mills and offices continually being upgraded.
