recreational opportunities. Hikers, bicyclists, cross-country skiers, equestrians,
snowmobiles, and sportsmen alike are welcome.
If you plan to hunt, trap, or fish on Bennett property you are asked to visit our
office to obtain a free 'Sportsman's Courtesy Card' permission slip. We will need to
know where you plan your activity, your current hunting license number, and plate
number of the vehicle you plan to use. This card is good for the year of issue only
and is only valid on Bennett Lumber lands. All hunting is subject to Idaho Fish &
Game regulations.
To protect roads from damage, reduce sedimentation of rivers and streams, and to
improve wildlife habitat most of our roads are permanently gated and closed to all
vehicle access. Many of our other roads have motorized-use restrictions.
Gates are closed seasonally when road surfaces are soft and vulnurable to damage.
This is generally around October 31. Gates are not reopened again until around the
first of July. Some roads may be closed to visitors during specific times, such as
when there is active logging in the area. This is for your safety.
While most of Bennett Lumber property is open to the public, the areas considered
'Moehrle Ranch' and 'Atwater Lake' are special management areas and are closed
to the public. These areas are clearly posted.
We ask that visitors observe a few general GUIDELINES that will help us protect the resources as well as prevent damage to company assets.
